Flight 27 | Brian

October 7th, 2007

Today I took a flight around the town of Discovery Bay, Ca. This is the town I grew up in, seeing it from above for the first time was amazing.

Discovery Bay is not a normal town, it was built near the delta. They created channels and then flooded them so they could put hundreds of homes right on the water.

I was flying with a fellow SodFlier. I followed him out to the delta.

He was a bit faster and lower then me the entire way out, it was difficult to find his green wing against the green surroundings. At this point he turned back and I continued around the small town.
This bridge connects our area with Stockton.

The marina takes up most of the lower left of this photoimg_7235.jpg

This is the other side of Discovery Bay. It was the downwind leg of the trip so I didn’t have time for too many photos

Here is my flight path

The entire trip was just under an hour. It was a bit choppy but enjoyable. I look forward to another lap.
